Bowen "Boilermaker" Battalion JROTC

What do you know about J.R.O.T.C.

This is the Bowen High school "Boilermakers" Battalion JROTC.  We would like to welcome you to a great school year.  The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps or JROTC was founded in 1969 by the National Defense Act when the United States government realized that they didn't have any highly trained officers to lead the american "dough boys" in the First World War.  Since its founding, the ROTC program has trained over 500,000 lieutentants in the US Army.

JROTC, however, is built upon the idea of development of good citizenship, rather than military training.  The main mission of all JROTC battalions across the nation is to "Motivate young people to be better citizens".  Apart from this, JROTC students learn practical leadership and life skills that can be applied to an everyday life.
